MCCM Partner Paul Barden, a six-year cancer survivor, and his wife Maria, rode in several charity bike rides this summer.  In May they rode in support of Livestrong at the Five Boro Bike Tour  – a 42-mile ride through all five boroughs of New York City.  In June they rode in support of the American Diabetes Associations at the Tour de Cure – a 65-mile ride along Lake Ontario and through Wayne County.  And in September, they rode in support of Camp Good Days and Special Times – a 45-mile ride around Keuka Lake.

Paul and Maria raised a total of just under $10,000 for those three rides.  In addition to his fundraising, Paul is involved with cancer patient advocacy through his service on the Wilmot Cancer Center’s Survivorship Advisory Council.  He is also a certified Livestrong at the YMCA instructor at the Eastside YMCA in Penfield where he works with cancer survivors in their transition from treatment to a more active physical lifestyle.
