Douglas J. Lustig, counsel at McConville, Considine, Cooman & Morin, P.C. From 1980 to 2022, Lustig served as a panel trustee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of New York—guiding countless proceedings and managing complex cases. Before joining MCCM in 2022, he practiced as a sole practitioner and held leadership roles in several regional law firms.
He credits his business background for guiding a legal career focused on bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, and real estate law—fields in which he brings “honesty and transparency” to every client interaction.
His career includes notable assignments such as serving as Chapter 7 trustee in multiple Ponzi‑scheme cases and successfully recovering millions for affected creditors—even pursuing debtors internationally. He also facilitated Chapter 11 filings for local businesses in Rochester, such as Eddie’s Chophouse and Varsity Inn—all illustrating his hands‑on impact in high‑stakes financial matters.
