McConville Considine Cooman & Morin, P.C. is pleased to announce that our Managing Partner, Peter J. Weishaar, was named to The Daily Record’s “Power 20 Labor & Employment List" for 2023.  The list includes lawyers who have spent much of their career working in labor and employment law.

These attorneys help their clients stay informed and protected and represent their clients’ interests when necessary.”

Peter began his career as an associate with the firm in 1996.  He became a partner in 2004, and ten years later he became managing partner.  Among his first cases were two Age Discrimination in Employment Act cases against a major financial institution.

Today, most of his labor and employment practice involves representing employers accused of discrimination.  Many of these cases are filed administratively with the New York Division of Human Rights, and as he notes, “We have a good track record of obtaining ‘no probable cause’ determinations in favor of our clients before the Division.”

One of his most memorable cases involved the defense of a sexual harassment claim in which he was able to demonstrate that the plaintiff fabricated several key pieces of evidence.  The plaintiff ultimately discontinued her case to avoid being sanctioned.

Peter was recently named to the Rochester Business Journal’s “Power 50 Law List" for 2022.  He has been named to The Daily Record’s “Power 20 Litigation” list, and has received The Daily Record’s Attorneys of the Year Leader in Law Award.  He has an AV Preeminent® peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and he has been selected to The Best Lawyers in America® for Land Use and Zoning Law.
